Netting With Shuttle & Gauge--1-5 day workshops Netting is a knotted form of looping that's so old it appears in ancient mythologies - and so timeless that contemporary fiber artists keep coming up with new ways to use it. Learn to use a shuttle and gauge to make netted items that are traditional, contemporary, or both. As time allows, workshops introduce two ways to work: By starting from a foundation chain and working flat, you can create scarves, shawls, hammocks and more. By starting from a grommet base and working in the round, you can create shopping bags, fishing nets, hats, and even a modern spin on the medieval hair net. Workshops may also cover square-mesh netting, patterned netting, 'new-style' netting, felted netting, netting for Nuno felting, and other variations.
